Simplygreen’s Tree Planting Day with Greenfleet

As part of our ongoing partnership with Greenfleet, members of our team recently took part in a tree planting day at the Strzelecki Nature Link on Boonwurrung Country. Together with Greenfleet and fellow supporters, we planted around 2,900 native trees to restore forests, tackle climate change, and protect local wildlife.

Restoring Forests, Protecting Wildlife

The planting day was about more than just trees - it was about creating ecosystems that can thrive for generations. The seedlings we planted included:

  • Silver wattle (Acacia dealbata)
  • Dogwood (Cassinia aculeata)
  • The endangered Strzelecki gum (Eucalyptus strzeleckii)
  • Manna gum (Eucalyptus viminalis), which will provide essential habitat for the local Strzelecki koala population

By contributing to legally protected forests, these plantings will support biodiversity, restore native landscapes, and deliver long-term climate benefits.

A Shared Effort

What made the day truly special was planting side by side with Greenfleet and other like-minded organisations. It was a chance to roll up our sleeves, connect with nature, and see first-hand the impact we can make when we work together. We can’t wait to see these forests grow and thrive, even providing habitat for animals like the koala!
